Lu’Ann Garza, MBA, CGMS

LuAnn Garza has more than 30 years of experience in accounting, financial management, and research administration across higher education and private practice. She joined the University of New England in 2006 and currently serves as Director of Finance and Research Administration for the Shaw Institute.

In her role, LuAnn provides financial and research administration leadership for the Institute’s sponsored portfolio, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, compliance, sponsored project administration, and subrecipient monitoring. She partners with investigators and UNE’s Office of Sponsored Programs and Post Award to support the full award lifecycle and develops financial policies, training resources, and reporting tools to strengthen stewardship and compliance.

LuAnn holds an MBA and is a Certified Grant Management Specialist (CGMS). She serves on the Board of Directors of the Maine Public Health Association and has held additional nonprofit board leadership roles.
