I received my Master’s in Public Health from the University of Michigan in 1994 and have worked in many venues, including managed care, state and local health departments, non-profits, universities and colleges. Through my career I have had the opportunity to serve on national committees, including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Cardiovascular Health Council Advocacy and Policy Committee, the National Cardiovascular Health Council Internal Organization Committee and the Expert Policy Panel for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention. I also served on the University of Michigan’s Alumni Board of Governors from 2003-2009.

More recently I have presented at multiple Lilly Conferences (Traverse City, Michigan and Asheville, NC) on interdisciplinary teaching, engaging students in community and political activism and designing effective internship programs.

On a more personal level, I am an avid biker (cycle, not motor), and enjoy music, reading, geocaching, traveling and I am a huge University of Michigan football fan – GO BLUE!
