Nikki Trone McCabe, D.M.D.

Assistant Clinical Professor
College of Dental Medicine

Dr. Nikki Trone McCabe grew up in Southern California (a proud UCLA alum) and began her career in the dental field in San Francisco, working as a dental and surgical assistant in both general and periodontal practices. Dr. Trone earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2021. She then completed an AEGD residency through Tufts in Maine.  Dr. Trone has dedicated the majority of her practice to community health, providing care for underserved populations across Maine and, before coming to UNE, served as an attending for the residency program where she trained.

Now a faculty member in dental medicine, Dr. Trone is passionate about patient-centered care and mentoring the next generation of dental professionals. Her background in collegiate and competitive dance and as a former yoga instructor plays a role in her philosophy as both a clinician and educator. She views dentistry as both a technical and mindful practice, one that values precision, balance, and relaxed assurance in every patient interaction. Outside of work, she and her husband Mike enjoy exploring all that Maine has to offer with their daughter, Annie, and their dog, Harriet.
