Tanya Halliday, PhD, RD

Tanya Halliday, PhD, RD joined UNE as Subject Matter Expert and Adjunct Faculty member in 2017. She is also currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes, School of Medicine at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus. In May 2016 she completed her doctoral degree in the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech, where she was also a course instructor. Dr. Halliday's research interests include energy balance and appetite regulation, influence of diet and exercise interventions on obesity-related co-morbidities, and weight loss and weight-loss maintenance. She is also interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning as well as integration of social media into the higher education setting for enhanced student learning. As a Registered Dietitian, Dr. Halliday has prior experience with corporate wellness and sports nutrition. On a personal note, she enjoys staying active - especially in the Colorado mountains - skiing, hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and resistance training.
