Art Therapy Neuroscience

Jessica Olmeda is from Portland, Connecticut. She graduated in May 2020, with a Neuroscience major, Art Therapy minor. During her time at UNE, she worked in the laboratory of Ian Meng, Ph.D., professor of biomedical science in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she studied the impacts of pain in the model of dry eye disease and how it can result in depressive and anxiety-like behaviors.

After graduation Olmeda plans to work in research for a few years before pursuing a graduate degree in neurodegenerative disease, epigenetics, or plasticity.
