Mihku Paul, Cheryl Savageau, and Susan Deer Cloud

A reading and discussion by Abenaki poet and fiction writer Cheryl Savageau, Maliseet artist and author Mihku Paul, and Métis Blackfoot/Mohawk/Seneca poet and fiction writer Susan Deer Cloud.  The three writers will read from their work and discuss reclaiming Native space, retelling Native history, bearing witness, and adaptation and celebration of the survival of Native culture.

This reading will kick off the UNE Maine Women Writers Collection Spring Academic Conference.  An opening reception at the Art Gallery will precede the reading from 6-7 p.m.

Staff will be on hand at the reading for anyone who wishes to register for Saturday's conference.
