Spring 2026 Connections Lecture
Join us for the next lecture in the Connections series: a conversation with Professor Emeritus Tom Wessels. Dr Wessels is an engaging speaker, a deep thinker, and an exemplar of the interdisciplinary focus of our lecture series His work merges ecology, geology, entomology, plant pathology, climatology, history, and more to tell a story of the New England environment. What he describes is right in front of us, hiding in plain sight. If you are interested in ecology, tourism, weather, climate, biology, chemistry, physics, geology, history, environmental studies/science, or anything else related to the natural environment or New England, his work is relevant to you. If you live in New England for at least part of the year, his work is relevant to you. We do hope you will join us for this engaging event.
He is the author of: Reading the Forested Landscape: A Natural History of New England (1997), The Granite Landscape (2001), Untamed Vermont: Extraordinary Wilderness Areas of the Green Mountain State (2003), Forest Forensics, A Field Guide to Reading the Forested Landscape (2010), Granite, Fire, and Fog: The Natural and Cultural History of Acadia (2017), New England’s Roadside Ecology (2021), and The Myth of Progress (2023).
