Bob Malbon's "Wildlife Images" photography on exhibit at University of New England in Biddeford

The University of New England is hosting an exhibition entitled “Wildlife Images” by Maine photographer Bob Malbon.

An opening reception will be held Friday, December 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Campus Center at the University of New England in Biddeford.  This exhibit is free and open to the public.  Malbon‚Äôs photographs will be on display through January 5, 2009.

Malbon started his photography career in college, taking pictures of sporting events and eventually becoming a darkroom manager and teacher of darkroom technique.  After moving from Boston to a rural Maine town, Malbon drifted away from photography and into cabinet-making.  Thirty years later, he is rediscovering the pleasure in hunting the perfect photograph through digital technology.

Malbon states, ‚ÄúI‚Äôm intrigued by the beauty of wild creatures, particularly birds. With the advances in photography equipment over the years, I find flight captures especially challenging.  Any day of the year, you can find me walking a woods trail or paddling the ponds, marshes and rivers of New England for the perfect photograph.‚Äù

Malbon has had recent exhibits at Cornell University Ornithology Lab, HOB Gallery for Audubon and In a Bind Gallery.  His photographs can be viewed on his website at www.bob-malbon-photo.smugmug.com.
