Department of Physical Therapy makes strong showing at Educational Leadership Conference

Four faculty members and one student from the Department of Physical Therapy participated in the annual Educational Leadership Conference sponsored by the American Physical Therapy Association, held October 1-3, 2011 in Clearwater, Florida.  Mike Sheldon, Department Director, participated in education sessions and business meetings as a voting member of the APTA Academic Administrators Council.  Sally McCormack Tutt attended as the department Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education.  Eileen Ricci, Assistant Professor, and Meagan O’Brien, 3rd year DPT student, presented an “Innovations in Teaching” presentation entitled “Transdisciplinary Integrated Playgroup: Inter-Professional Training in the Promotion of Development, Physical Activity, Playfulness, and Health in Toddlers.”  Jim Cavanaugh, Assistant Professor, also presented an “Innovations in Teaching” presentation, entitled “Teleteaching: Innovation in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Education.”
