Morocco World News names Anouar Majid one of 'Morocco’s Most Influential Intellectuals in the United States'

On Dec. 31, 2011 Morocco World News named Anouar Majid, Ph.D., UNE associate provost for global initiatives and director of the Center for Global Humanities, the first of seven of "Morocco’s Most Influential Intellectuals in the United States."

The following day, on Jan. 1, 2012, Morocco World News also published an opinion column by Majid titled "Four Reasons Why Morocco is an Exception." Majid looks at four reasons why Morocco is an exception to the current tides of change in the Middle East and North Africa. That article continues to be one of the most read on the website.

Majid, a native of Morocco, is the author of four critically acclaimed books on Islam and the West, including We Are All Moors: Ending Centuries of Crusades against Muslims and Other Minorities. His latest book, Islam and America: Building a Future without Prejudice, has just been released.  Publishers Weekly called it "important" and said "Majid's message is critical in today’s political climate."
