UNE hosts sixth annual Paul D. Merrill Business Ethics Lecture, featuring Barber Foods President and CEO David Barber

The 6th Annual Paul D. Merrill Business Ethics Lecture, hosted by the University of New England's Department of Business, featured Barber Foods President and CEO David Barber who presented a lecture on "It's Just Business: Ethics in Driving Decisions."  The event was held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 4 p.m. in the Eleanor DeWolfe Ludcke Auditorium on the Portland Campus.  A reception was held at the UNE Art Gallery immediately following the lecture.

Barber was named the president and CEO of Barber Foods in 2010. He led the organization through an acquisition with AdvancePierre Foods, and has been instrumental with the integration of the company founded by his parents, Gus and Marjorie, 55 years ago into the significantly larger organization. David also ensures that his late father's legacy of an unshakable commitment to quality, service and associates continues.

The lecture series honors the late Paul D. (P.D.) Merrill, a Portland-area business leader and longtime UNE trustee, supporter and friend.  The annual event creates an opportunity for future business leaders from UNE and the broader community to learn about and reflect upon the important role that ethical considerations play in our daily choices, and the impact these choices have on our communities.
