Anne-Marie Davee interviewed for article in ‘The Current’

The July 4, 2014 issue of The Current featured an article on healthy foods for Boomers, which focused largely on Anne-Marie Davee, M.S., R.D., L.D., SNAP-Ed nutrition program coordinator in the School of Community and Population Health.

In the article, Davee spoke about her life-long interest in nutrition, her own eating habits, and diet’s effect on various health issues that the Boomer generation faces.

She also commented on the low-carbohydrate diet craze:  “It’s like a pendulum…It keeps swaying one way or the other,” she said.  “It’s good for quick weight loss, but it’s not something I’d recommend for the long term.  You get critical nutrition from the while grains and fruits.  Over time, your body misses those nutrients.”
