M.P.H. candidate Jason Moury participates in Mass. Dept. of Public Health ceremony

Master of Public Health candidate Jason Moury '14 participated in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Summer Internship closing ceremonies on August 11, 2014.

Moury joined more than 20 other students in the Massachusetts DPH internship program as the Practical Experience component of his M.P.H. degree.

Moury was assigned to the community of Hubbardston, Mass., where he developed educational material on Lyme disease. As part of the internship, students created presentation posters and abstracts. Moury made a poster and presented the materials he developed to an audience.

“The summer internship was a great use of my Practical Experience time,” Moury said. “I found that working with local communities on issues that are important to them helped me better understand what I can do with the education I’m receiving at UNE.”

The Division of Epidemiology and Immunizations oversees the Massachusetts DPH internship program, which is in its 14th year. The other students in the program represented Boston University, Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts, among other institutions.
