The Pie News reports on opening of UNE’s Morocco Campus

On May 15, 2014, thepienews.com published an article titled “UNE opens Morocco’s first US-run HE campus.”

The article discussed the benefit to science students, in particular, in studying at the Tangier Campus.  Anouar Majid, Ph.D., vice president for Global Affairs and the director of the Center for Global Humanities, was interviewed for the article.  He noted, “No US university, to my knowledge, has done this before because students in the sciences don’t go away for a semester and take their lab-based science courses in non-English-speaking environments.”

The article also reported on the inauguration ceremony that took place last month at which President Danielle Ripich, Ph.D., spoke of the inaugural class as “pioneers.”
