UNE's School of Community and Population Health named "Local Performance Site" for the New England Public Health Training Center

UNE’s School of Community and Population Health (SCPH) was recently named a “Local Performance Site” for the New England Public Health Training Center (NEPHTC). This partnership will help to provide learning opportunities to support the training needs of the U.S. public health workforce.

The primary focus of the NEPHTC will be to create and implement effective distance-based training options for public health workers at local and state agencies throughout New England.  In addition, it will endeavor to enhance collaboration between agencies and public health graduate students and faculty by providing support for student field placements.

The NEPHTC was established in September 2014 after being awarded funding of approximately $850,000 annually (for four years) from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  Other Local Performance Sites include Boston University School of Public Health, Dartmouth College, University of Massachusetts Amherst and Yale School of Public Health.
