MPH student Gregg Gorzelle receives SBIR grant

Gregg Gorzelle (MPH ’17), associate director of research for Hearthstone Alzheimer Care, received a $150 thousand Phase 1 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant for a project entitled "HOME 4 CARE"™.

The project involves the development and testing of a mobile software suite designed to improve the quality of care provided by home health workers to persons with dementia.

“I am very excited for this opportunity to continue working to improve both the quality of life and the quality of care for those with Alzheimer's and other dementias," Gorzelle said. “The MPH curriculum at UNE has helped me see public health through a wider lens. I am sure as time progresses my coursework will open up new insights that will only enhance my ability to serve others.”
