A collection of artistic works by the “Open Studio” art group will be on display at UNE's Campus Center from July 2 through August 3, 2015.

Members of the “Open Studio” art group meet weekly to paint and draw under the guidance of local artist Russel Whitten. Under his tutelage, group participants explore all aspects of drawing and painting, such as color theory and perspective. While a wide variety of media are used, the most notable include watercolor, oil, acrylic and pastel.

The group currently meets every Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. either at a previously announced location or, during inclement weather, at the Biddeford Pool Community Club at 2 Yates Street, Biddeford Pool. For more information about participating in the “Open Studio” art group, please contact Whitten at oppaintah@aol.com.

The exhibit at UNE is free and open to the public. The university’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information about the exhibit, contact Diane Noble by email  or phone (207-284-6394).
