Ava Lindert receives President’s Award from the Maine Dental Association

UNE dental student Ava Lindert (’17) has received the President’s Award from the Maine Dental Association (MDA). Lindert was recognized at the MDA annual convention, held June 11, 2016 at the Samoset Resort.

Presented with the award from outgoing Executive Board President Dr. Timothy Oh, Lindert received the honor for her leadership in the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) and her contributions to the College of Dental Medicine.

Lindert was recently elected as an ASDA District 1 Trustee by student delegates from UNE, the University of Connecticut, Boston University, Tufts and Harvard. This fall, she will unite the five schools through intercollegiate events, including the Fall Leadership Conference and District 1 Debate. She will also sit on the board of trustees, which includes representatives from the 10 ASDA districts across the country, as well as the executive committee.
