Media continue to pursue UNE expertise on clinical trials
Ed Bilsky, Ph.D., vice-president of Research and Scholarship, director of the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences and professor of pharmacology was interviewed by WCSH and WGME about the risks of clinical drug trials.
One drug trial participant died and five others were hospitalized after a recent study in France. Bilsky shared his expertise on the risks and regulations involved with drug studies. "This is needed," he said. "We need new drugs and new therapies for these challenging diseases that affect humans, so we can't abandon that, but we can certainly learn from mistakes and do a thorough analysis when tragedies like this occur."
