UNE spirit showcased at Big Blue Bang event

University of New England Student Activities hosted, “Big Blue Bang” in conjunction with Friday’s ice hockey doubleheader.

Prior to the fireworks show outside, the Nor'easters provided their own fireworks before a record crowd at the Harold Alfond Forum. The women’s ice hockey team celebrated a 2-1 overtime victory against Nichols College. The men’s hockey team outscored the University of Southern Maine 7-0 over the final two periods to claim its school-record 11th win of the season.

Each game featured a youth synchronized skating performance at intermission. Following the games, students enjoyed a fireworks show.
