UNE’s Jon Ryder featured in 'Dental Tribune' article
Jon Ryder, D.D.S., M.S., dean of the College of Dental Medicine, was highlighted in a piece by the Dental Tribune, a leading global newspaper for dental professionals.
The article, titled “National media’s spotlight on flossing enables dental professionals to shine,” discussed the ways that dentists and dental organizations provided perspective following an Associated Press article downplaying the importance of flossing.
Ryder was included as one of nine dental professionals whose expertise was sought after following the AP report. In speaking with local news outlets, Ryder stressed the importance of flossing, saying “Most people actually have missing or tilted or crooked teeth, and we need to have these (flossing) instruments at our disposal to help prevent further disease and reduce the amount of plaque on the teeth.”
