Exercise and Sport Performance students shine at regional American College of Sports Medicine meeting

More than thirty University of New England students studying Exercise and Sport Performance recently traveled to the New England American College of Sports Medicine meeting in Providence, Rhode Island

Three students were accepted for presentations during the conference. Applied Exercise Science students Rob Downing and Lee Spahr gave oral presentations and Athletic Training student Kara Hecker gave a thematic poster presentation. Hecker also received the NEACSM 2017 Undergraduate Research Award. 

The conference also included a quiz bowl where three students from each New England college, approximately 20 colleges overall, competed to represent the region at the National American College of Sports Medicine conference. For the second year running, UNE's quiz bowl team, made up of Rob Downing, Michala Peltak and Samantha Gagne, placed second overall.
