Karen Pardue and Bernice Mills present at Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions conference

University of New England Interim Dean of the Westbrook College of Health Professions Karen Pardue, Ph.D., RN, ANEF and Bernice Mills, M.S., RDH, WCHP assistant dean for Clinical and Student Affairs, presented a paper at the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP) annual conference in San Antonio, Texas.

The presentation, “Let’s Start at the Very Beginning: Integrating Interprofessional Education into a First-Year Experience (FYE) course,” was selected as an oral paper for the Innovation and Next Steps in Interprofessional Education category. The paper highlighted the WCHP/ UNE College of Pharmacy pilot experience and outcomes of designing and teaching an interprofessional first year experience course to 295 first-year students across 18 course sections.

The Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions is the national professional organization for administrators and academics concerned with critical issues affecting allied health education.
