People, Places and Things, an exhibition of oil and acrylic paintings by Susan Paradis, will be on display at the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus Center from November 14 to mid-January.

Paradis has illustrated over twenty books for children, four of which she authored. She was chosen as one of five American artists to participate in a three-year national tour of Fairy Tale Art for her book Snow Princess. Her latest book, Edna, was written for children who have been traumatized and has been praised by psychiatrists, therapists and counselors. Paradis’ work has been reviewed in the New York Times and has appeared on the television show “Chronicle.”

In addition to writing and illustrating picture books, Paradis enjoys painting portraits, still life, landscapes and ocean pieces. She has been the featured artist at the Wenham Museum in Wenham, Massachusetts, and the Tuttle Gallery in Canton, Ohio. She speaks regularly at schools, book clubs and teachers’ groups throughout New England.

Paradis also paints portraits on commission. She is represented by the Sharpe Gallery in Kennebunkport, Maine.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. UNE’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email or phone (207-284-6394).
