UNE dental externship program featured in ‘Berlin Daily Sun’

The Berlin Daily Sun, a New Hampshire newspaper, has published an article on the College of Dental Medicine’s student externship program. Gorham Family Dentistry of Gorham, New Hampshire was selected as a community-based externship site, where UNE students Thanh Huynh, Dustin Nadeau and Jacob Fillebrown completed their dental training during the 2017 academic year.

Reflecting on his experience at UNE, Huynh said that he made his decision to enroll at the College of Dental Medicine immediately after his interview. “The positive personalities and friendly environment were ultimately the deciding factors for me in choosing UNE,” he said. “Even though the interview was brief, I have never felt so connected and welcomed.”

Huynh is currently pursuing an Advanced Education of General Dentistry in El Paso, Texas. He plans to return to New England following completion of his program. “I wish to serve others to the best of my ability through the knowledge I gained from the UNE College of Dental Medicine,” Huynh said. “I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have an equal, yet wonderful dental experience.”
