University of New England Nutrition and Health, Wellness, & Occupational Studies (HWOS) students provided nutrition and stress management education at the Town of Kennebunk's recent Health & Wellness Fair.

The UNE students hosted tables and presented information on healthy eating, including tips for quick lunches and nutritious snacks, as well as stress management techniques including deep breathing, creative arts, reiki, and acupressure massage. Fair attendees who visited the nutrition table completed a "Rate Your Plate" quiz and were entered into a raffle for veggie-themed placemats. Visitors to the stress management tables learned practical tips for de-stressing and relaxation, and received informational take-home materials.

The Kennebunk Health Fair gave students the opportunity to apply classroom learning concepts to communication with members of the public and the promotion of community health and wellness. UNE Nutrition Professors Anne-Marie Davee, M.S., RDN, LD, and HWOS faculty members Collyn Baeder, M.P.H., and Bethany Fortier, M.P.H, joined the students to provide support.
