UNE’s Gayle Brazeau invited to speak at Advancing Women in Academia leadership conference

Gayle Brazeau, Ph.D., dean of the College of Pharmacy, was selected to present alongside fellow academic leaders from Maine at the seventh annual Advancing Women in Academia summit. Held May 16, 2017, the event brought together women from Maine’s colleges and universities to network and participate in discussions on career advancement.

Brazeau was a panelist in the leadership forum/panel discussion, titled “Women in Academic Leadership: Modeling Success.” Joined by faculty from Husson University, the University of Maine, Colby College and Maine Maritime, Brazeau offered evidence-based strategies for developing critical leadership skills and achieving success in academia.

The conference also included discussion groups addressing the balance of scholarly work and teaching, peer committee best practices, personal development coaching, the experiences of international students and tips for creating advocacy groups.
