UNE's Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society inducts 14 students

On April 1, 2017, the UNE Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society initiated 14 Doctor of Pharmacy candidates from the class of 2018:

A.J. Golash - Syracuse, NY
Pierre Hanna - Lexington, SC
Mackinleigh Isherwood - Portland, ME
Derek Melzar - Burlington, MA
Joshua Petrisor - Portland, OR
Madeline Pryor - Hooksett, NH
Brittney Sorbello - Dover, NH
Amare Tola - Takoma Park, MD
Lindsey Tatakis - Skowhegan, ME
Natalie Underdown - Cape Elizabeth, ME

Students were inducted on the basis of their academic performance, representing the top 15% of current second-year students. The Rho Chi Society encourages and recognizes excellence in intellectual achievement and advocates critical inquiry in all aspects of pharmacy. The Society further encourages high standards of conduct and character and fosters fellowship among its member. The Delta Chi chapter was chartered in Spring 2014 at UNE with 65 official charter members.

“This is truly one of my favorite events each year in the college,” said Gayle Brazeau, Ph.D., dean of the College of Pharmacy. “It is so exciting and an honor to have the opportunity to recognize these outstanding students for their academic excellence in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. We are very fortunate to have these students who demonstrate passion, commitment and dedication to the highest level of intellectual achievement and curiosity.”

“The College of Pharmacy is proud of the academic and professional success that these students have achieved and believe that each one of them has a bright future ahead,” said chapter President Kailey Wakefield. “I am excited to see what this promising group of individuals can do for our chapter in the upcoming year.”
