The College of Dental Medicine’s Rachel King, D.D.S., M.P.H., assistant clinical professor and Susan Patoine, R.D.H., community dental health coordinator, recently provided tips on oral health care for infants to a lactation support group at Southern Maine Health Care (SMHC) in Biddeford.

King discussed the importance of establishing an oral health care routine right from birth. She also provided tips  to seven new mothers on how to care for their babies’ oral health.

Patoine will soon begin presenting on this topic to various groups moving forward.

Janice Lessard, R.N., SMHC nurse and lactation consultant, says she is very excited to partner with UNE’s College of Dental Medicine to offer oral health education to the programs’ participants.
