Sean Ramey, M.F.A., associate lecturer in the Department of English, has taken on the role of Oberon, King of the Fairies, in the Fenix Theatre Company’s production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The classic summer comedy is being performed in the round, under a tree canopy, in Deering Oaks Park in Portland through August 10.

The production received a highly favorable review in the Portland Press Herald. The article describes Ramey’s Oberon as “the most sinister, if ultimately redeemed, character.”

Ramey teaches Shakespeare, Speech Communication and more at UNE. He is a member of the Equity Actor’s Association and can occasionally be found performing in area plays.
