UNE’s Michele Polacsek receives award from Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior

Michele Polacsek, Ph.D., M.H.S., professor of public health and director of the Center for Excellence in Public Health at the University of New England, is a 2021 recipient of a High-Impact Award from the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior (JNEB).

The 2021 recognitions are given to authors of papers published in 2018 in JNEB that have been highly cited since publication.

Polacsek is the lead author of the publication “A Supermarket Double-Dollar Incentive Program Increases Purchases of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Among Low-Income Families with Children: The Healthy Double Study.” The paper, which has been cited 27 times since publication in JNEB, outlines a pilot study to determine whether a supermarket double-dollar fruit and vegetable incentive increases purchases of fruits and vegetables among low-income families.
