Stephen Burt, B.F.A., M.F.A., associate professor of art, and poet Catherine Weiss created a video as part of a collaboration initiated by the organizers of the 17th annual Belfast Poetry Festival.

For the video, titled, “taxonomy of possible last words,” Burt contributed drawings of skeletons, which were then set into a usable font by Oran Suta, B.F.A., College of Osteopathic Medicine's medical illustrator/medical curriculum multimedia designer and teacher of scientific illustration.

The Belfast Poetry Festival celebrates poetry, community, and artistic possibility. An all-arts festival with poetry as the driving force, this year's event combined a variety show, art exhibit, and literary showcase. It is one of the few community-based, non-academic poetry festivals in the United States.

The Belfast Poetry Festival happens every year the weekend after Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
