Preparing Culturally Aware Leaders for a Multicultural World
The UNE Inclusive Leadership Badge program is a leadership development opportunity for all students designed to increase awareness about inclusive leadership theories and practices. The program also provides opportunities for experiential learning with diverse communities. Educational materials for this badge will be provided to the participants.
This badge is offered through the UNE Badging program. Participants who complete the program receive an Inclusive Leadership Badge micro-credential (or badge). Your badge can be added to LinkedIn and included on a resume.
Why Participate in the Inclusive Leadership Badge Program?
When you successfully complete the Inclusive Leadership Badge (ILB), you will be able to:
- Analyze your own identities and describe how your personal worldview is shaped by cultural factors.
- Identify and critique personal assumptions and biases.
- Describe how privilege and power contribute to social injustices.
- Describe leadership and change-maker styles.
- Explain your own model of inclusive leadership and its applications for your future life.
How to Apply
To apply for the Biddeford Campus April 2026 or Portland Campus Summer 2026 in-person Inclusive Leadership Badge program, please send an email to Shannon Zlotkowski at szlotkowski@une.edu stating the reason for your interest in completing the badge. Workshop dates and times will be coordinated with participants.
Details for the fall online Inclusive Leadership Badge workshops will be announced this summer.
Inclusive Leadership Badge Program Requirements
Participate in Virtual Workshops and Trainings
(approximately 3 hours)
- Identities and worldviews; systems of privilege
- Inclusive leadership practices and change-maker assessment
Present Inclusive Leadership Model
(approximately 5 hours)
- Create and present your own model of inclusive leadership and its applications for your future life
