Teaching for Tolerance and Cross-Cultural Understanding in the Classroom

Dr. Heather Dwyer Sadlier from UNE Department of Education will discuss her work on creating inclusive classrooms with a respect for differences in school settings based on her extensive work with the Teaching Tolerance curriculum. Founded in 1991 by the Southern Poverty Law Center, Teaching Tolerance is dedicated to reducing prejudice, improving intergroup relations and supporting equitable school experiences for our nation's children. In this interactive lecture/workshop, participants will gain greater awareness of the unique cultural differences that make up every classroom setting.
