Ryan Sallans: Female to Male - Scouting the Unknown

Ryan Sallans is a transgender activist, author, and LGBTQ healthcare trainer and consultant. Since 199, he has provided trainings for professionals serving the LGBTQ community, or seeking to provide inclusive environments; and works with organizations in developing healthcare modules used to train clinicians and other medical staff on LGBTQ healthcare services.  

His most popular program is his story of transitioning from female to male. Through his presentation FtM: Scouting the Unknown, Ryan takes his audience on a journey through his childhood and the struggles he had with his body before moving into his adult life where he explores college, romantic relationships, family and his physical and emotional journey related to transition. His memoir Second Son: Transitioning Toward My Destiny, Love, and Life was published in April, 2012 by TitleTown Publishing, LLC.
