Seriously Beautiful Places to Live and Learn

The University of New England has three distinct campuses. Our two Maine campuses house our internationally renowned undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, while our campus in Tangier, Morocco, is home to an innovative semester-abroad program for UNE students.

You are not going to be wasting your time by coming here. You are immediately going to fall in love with this place your freshman year. Beautiful campus, beautiful people.” — Jeremiah Martinez, Political Science ’23

Biddeford Campus

Our gorgeous waterfront campus in Biddeford, Maine, sits on 579 acres where the Saco River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The hub of undergraduate life and home to our College of Medicine, the campus features 4,000 feet of scenic shoreline (including our own beach!) as well as woods, fields, and nearby salt marshes.

The world-class facilities on Biddeford Campus include the Harold Alfond Center for the Health Sciences, a modern science education facility; the Arthur P. Girard Marine Science Center, where students prepare for the marine careers of the coming "ocean century"; the Harold Alfond Forum, which includes an NHL-size hockey arena, basketball arena, and other athletics facilities, and the Danielle N. Ripich Commons — the all-in-one hub of the undergraduate student experience.

Portland Campus

Our historic campus in the picturesque coastal city of Portland, Maine, provides a quintessential New England university quad. The 41-acre campus houses Northern New England’s only College of Dental Medicine; the Westbrook College of Health Professions, which offers undergraduate and graduate programs in several allied health fields; Innovation Hall, a venue for University and regional conferences; UNE’s Art Gallery; and the Maine Women Writers Collection.

The campus sits in a suburban neighborhood, just minutes from the downtown waterfront. Portland is a city that needs no introduction to foodies and craft beer enthusiasts and is frequently included on lists of most livable small cities. It offers an incredible natural environment, friendly people, a wealth of arts and culture, and major medical facilities for internships and rotations.

Tangier, Morocco

UNE is proud to offer the only dedicated campus for a U.S.-based university in Tangier, Morocco — a Mediterranean crossroads of languages, cultures, and continents. It’s fully equipped with labs to allow students studying health professions and sciences to spend a semester abroad while staying on track with rigorous required courses. Outside the classroom, regular outings and excursions (including easy access to Europe) balance out a life-changing cross-cultural experience.

The campus features modern facilities with Moorish stylings and is housed on the leafy grounds of the American School of Tangier, with easy access to downtown, the beach, attractions, and cultural activities. Opened in 2014, UNE's Tangier Campus reflects our belief that today's students need exposure to other cultures to succeed in a globalized world.
