Markus Frederich, Ph.D.

Join us for a fascinating virtual expedition as Markus Frederich, Ph.D. from the School of Marine and Environmental Programs shares highlights from his sabbatical research in Iceland.

In this engaging seminar, Dr. Frederich will take attendees on a “virtual fieldtrip,” exploring how environmental DNA (eDNA) is transforming the way scientists study remote and dynamic ecosystems such as Iceland’s fjords. Through a blend of scientific insight, field experiences, and compelling storytelling, he will illuminate how genetic tools can unlock the mysteries hidden beneath the surface of these unique marine environments.

Date: March 26
Time: 3:00 PM
Location: St. Francis Room

This seminar is open to all who are interested in marine biology, environmental science, genetics, or Iceland’s remarkable natural landscapes.
