Shelley Cohen Konrad, Ph.D., L.C.S.W., F.N.A.P., interim director of the School of Social Work and director of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) and Karen Pardue, Ph.D., R.N., A.N.E.F., associate dean for Academic Affairs, Westbrook College of Health Professions, delivered a keynote presentation to the Summer Leadership Conference at Nova Southeastern University.

The keynote, titled, “Interprofessional Education and Academic Culture Change” kicked off the conference. Cohen Konrad and Pardue discussed the history of interprofessional education and how teaching collaborative practice competencies to health profession students serves to support high quality health care delivery. Teaching from an interprofessional vantage point is a new educational imperative, requiring academic institutions to alter curricula and pedagogy to incorporate this new way of teaching and learning.

The conference was broadcast to Nova Southeastern’s multiple campuses to include Ft. Lauderdale, Davie, Miami and Jacksonville Florida.
