To mark Constitution Day 2017, faculty members from University of New England College of Arts and Sciences took part in an event titled, “Making Sense of Charlottesville,” in which they discussed the violent actions of white nationalists in Virginia.
A large crowd attended the panel, which was also streamed live on Facebook. It was moderated by Ali Ahmida, Ph.D., and included Jennifer Tuttle, Ph.D., Robert Alegre, Ph.D., and James Roche, J.D., LL.M. They discussed issues around race, the First Amendment, hate speech and Confederate monuments.
