Michael Hersom

Michael Hersom, D.M.D.

Assistant Clinical Professor

Dr. Hersom was born and raised in Sanford, Maine. He graduated cum laude from Boston College in 1989 with a B.S. degree in biology. He subsequently graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1993. After dental school, Dr. Hersom entered the U.S. Air Force, where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Following the completion of his military commitment in 1996, Dr. Hersom returned to Maine and he joined the group practice of Glen Cove Dental Associates in Rockport.

Dr. Hersom is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry (in which he holds Fellowship status), and the Casco Bay Study Club (charter member). He has served on the Executive Council of the Maine Dental Association, the Executive Board of the Maine Academy of General Dentistry, and was part of the team involved in the development of the Knox County Dental Clinic. Dr. Hersom enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially interdisciplinary care. He lives in Rockland with his wife, Hope, and their 3 children.
