
Michael Ruggiero, MHS, PA-C

Michael is a physician assistant who joined the UNE PA faculty in September of 2010 . Prior to joining our program Michael worked in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery, Urgent Care and Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Michael earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from Merrimack College and while in school was a team athletic trainer for division I and II sports programs. He later earned a Masters Degree in Health Science and Physician Assistant studies from Quinnipiac University.
Michael is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Massachusetts Association of Physician Assistants. He is licensed to practice medicine as a physician assistant in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
His clinical interests are sports medicine, knee and shoulder injuries and occupational injuries and illness. His academic interests are focused on improving and developing educational models and methods as it relates to physician assistant training.
Although an accomplished clinician, Michael's proudest title is that of dad to his three sons and husband to his wife. Most of his free time is spent reveling in those roles with his family. He also enjoys the piano, guitar and outdoor activities.
