Academic information sessions provide a unique experience to learn more about your program of interest. From dynamic online events to experiential tours on campus, each session provides a program overview, highlights experiential learning opportunities, and explores the resources and facilities UNE has to offer.
Information Sessions by Program
Our Dental Hygiene information session provides an overview of the coursework and academic pathways for Dental Hygiene majors. Program faculty will highlight examples of hands-on learning experiences, practice techniques, and how we prepare students to thrive in modern, team-based care. Your session will include a tour of our Dental Hygiene facilities, including our dental simulation lab.
Exercise Sport Performance
Our Department of Exercise and Sport Performance offers programs in Athletic Training and Applied Exercise Science. This information session explores the differences between the two programs, as well as the coursework, research, internships, and interprofessional education at the center of both majors. You'll meet the director of the Athletic Training program for a mock class and a tour of the Harold Alfond Forum, where you'll experience what courses are like in our classrooms, labs, and athletics facilities.
Health, Wellness and Occupational Studies
At the intersection of health and human behavior, UNE’s Health, Wellness, and Occupational Studies (HWOS) program teaches you how to work with diverse individuals and populations to assess their wellness and guide them toward healthier lives. Attend our HWOS information session and learn more about our uniquely interprofessional educational environment. Program Director Caryn Husman, M.S., OTR/L, will lead a presentation about the program, including curriculum discussion and activities related to specific classes such as stress management, assistive technology, and occupational media.
Marine and Environmental Programs
Whether you’re interested in Marine Sciences or Environmental Studies, this information session provides an exciting introduction to the hands-on education you can expect in the field, on boats, in state-of-the-art laboratories, and in internships. You’ll meet Charles Tilburg, Ph.D., director of the School of Marine and Environmental Programs for a mock class and a tour of the Marine Science Center where you’ll get to see the hands-on work that goes on in the field and in labs here at UNE.
UNE’s Neuroscience major combines hands-on discovery, research, and internships to bring you an interdisciplinary program incorporating the fields of psychology, biology, chemistry, and biomedical science. Led by Ian Meng, Ph.D., Professor of Biomedical Sciences, and Director of the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences, the Neuroscience virtual info sessions will provide a lively overview of Neuroscience at UNE, from the uncommon breadth of research opportunities available to undergraduate students, to internships, community outreach programs, and other exciting ways to get involved. Featured faculty members, students, and alumni join each session to share their experiences and a look inside their labs and current research.
Join our Department of Nursing and Population Health info session to discover more about our Nursing program and explore the coursework, simulation experiences, clinicals, and interprofessional education opportunities that UNE offers. You’ll meet the coordinator of the Simulation and Skills Lab for a program presentation, tour of our state-of-the-art Interprofessional Simulation and Innovation Center, and see the classrooms and labs where hands-on learning takes place.
Join us to learn more about our Pre-Pharmacy program where you’ll gain the expertise and knowledge to succeed in our Doctor of Pharmacy program. This information session explores the coursework, research, clinicals, simulation experiences, and interprofessional education opportunities that UNE offers. Representatives from our School of Pharmacy will share an overview of our pre-professional program and then lead a tour of our pharmacy facilities, including a lab activity.
