UNE hosts debate for 1st Congressional District candidates Chellie Pingree and Charlie Summers

The University of New England is hosting a debate for Maine's 1st Congressional District between Democrat Chellie Pingree and Republican Charlie Summers Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Rooms in the Campus Center in Biddeford. 

The moderator for the debate is Gregg Lagerquist from Channel 13 WGME.  Portions of the debate will be shown live and later in that night's news program on Channel 13. 

The debate is being sponsored by the People of Politics club and the Political Science Department.

The debate is open to the public, as well as the UNE community. 

Members of the UNE community have the opportunity to submit questions for the candidates.  Please send questions to at jmueller@une.edu by October 23, and include your name (including pronunciation if necessary), major, and class year or affiliation with UNE (or please note if you prefer to remain anonymous]) and your question may be read at the debate.

Seating for this event is limited, so please arrive early.  The debate will start promptly at 7:00 p.m.
