Donor gifts support all aspects of the student experience at the University of New England. Listed below are descriptions of general areas of support. However, just as each of our students’ paths to success is unique, there are ways to support specific initiatives at UNE that are not listed here. For more information on other philanthropic initiatives and ways to give, please contact Bill Chance, vice president of Institutional Advancement at wchance@une.edu or (207) 221-4373.

Annual Fund

Whether unrestricted or directed to a specific college, gifts to the Annual Fund support a full range of academic and research initiatives, teaching and learning projects, and student life activities. These gifts make an immediate impact on students on all of our campuses.

Scholarships

“UNE is proud to educate a student body comprised of bright, enthusiastic individuals, and we want to build on that each year,” says Paul Henderson, assistant vice president of Student Financial Services. “We understand how finances can influence a student’s ability to enroll; therefore, we are committed to working proactively with students with an intense desire to learn so that a UNE education is within their reach.” In addition to merit and need-based financial aid programs, scholarship funds given by donors like you through the Annual Fund and endowed funds are critical in making a UNE education a reality for hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students.

Athletics

Nor’easter pride runs deep at UNE and includes the St. Francis and UNE Red Knights and the Westbrook College Wildcats. You can direct your support to a specific team you are rooting on or to the overall athletics program.
