The grant will partner Maine AHEC with the Maternal Health Learning and Innovation Center to bolster the maternal health care workforce in Maine by producing and hosting an event in the fall incorporating students, interprofessional members of the maternal health community, and key partners to address this important need within Maine’s healthcare system.

The University of New England's cross-cultural health immersion to Ghana integrates western health practices with folk medicine that is integral in providing culturally competent health care to all groups. UNE students from all health professions programs are invited to participate in this interprofessional learning experience, where they will develop, implement, and evaluate health education curricula relevant to the population need.
