A New England business owner’s first-hand account of a ransomware attack was broken down by a panel of industry experts on Oct. 16 at UNE in the Spark Business Series event, “The Business of Cyber Defense: How Leaders Prepare for and Recover from Cyber Threats.”

UNE takes part in statewide confernee
Top researchers, science educators, and biotechnology business owners from across Maine — including several from the University of New England — gathered in Portland over two days in September to share research insights at the 2025 Statewide Biomedical Science and Engineering Research Symposium. Five UNE researchers and science educators were among the three dozen speakers at the event and another 14 professional staff and students presented research in poster sessions at the event hosted by the University of Southern Maine.

UNE Research Comes to Life Off Maine's Coast

UNE researchers have deployed a cutting-edge underwater seismometer near UNE’s Ram Island to monitor real-time seismic activity in the Gulf of Maine. The project, led by faculty and students, is enhancing our understanding of offshore earthquakes and fault lines in New England. Read more
