The Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences facilitates student and faculty research and collaborations with researchers outside the University.

The Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences, along with UNE’s Center for Excellence in Collaborative Education (CECE), brings together groups of health care professionals, scientists, educators, scholars, and students who share a passion for transforming pain prevention, care, education, and research.

The Center of Biomedical Research Excellence for the Study of Pain and Sensory Function was established in 2012 through funding from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). The center’s mission is to significantly contribute to the scientific understanding of the neurobiology of chronic pain, facilitating the discovery and development of novel therapies.

Student Research

The Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences provides research opportunities for UNE students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
