Gifts to the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) Annual Fund are utilized in the year in which they are given. They support the programs that make UNE's COM a unique and innovative medical school where students have the opportunity to explore their academic, clinical and research interests, and find their place in the world of health care. Donors to the Annual Fund may opt to make unrestricted gifts or may designate their gift to a specific area, such the New England Osteopathic Heritage Center.
Gifts to COM Annual Fund Scholarships are utilized in the year in which they are given to support financial aid for a medical student with demonstrated financial need, helping UNE to provide an affordable medical education for bright, hard-working future physicians from all economic levels. Such gifts reduce student debt, thereby enabling scholarship recipients to make practice decisions based on passion rather than pocketbook. Gifts to COM Annual Fund and COM Annual Fund Scholarships may be counted towards the Doctors for Maine’s Future match — doubling the impact of the gifts.
